We are very honored to have this great opportunity to photograph this unique Victorian Ball at the annual Jim Thorpe Victorian Festival (www.jtvictorianfestival.com) a few weeks ago. The Victorian Ball was organized by the committee and performers of the Mauch Chunk Players, as a fundraiser for the Kemmerer Carriage House Restoration Project.
The theme this year were centering on a Victorian Wedding re-enactment of Mary Augusta Lockhart to Harry Eldred Packer. The event started with Bride and Groom promenaded with town folk from Asa Packer Mansion Museum up to The Mauch Chunk Ballroom for their wedding ceremony (a reenactment). The ceremony was followed by cocktail, dinner and Victorian style dances.
If you missed out this year’s Victorian reminiscences, but sure to check back next year to be part of this fun and meaningful fundraiser!
I couldn’t help it, but have to render a black and white “antique” version of the family portrait.
